Operating & Volunteering Details

The railway currently operates for visitors who stay at the Joys of Life as and when is required or on running days held throughout the year inbetween revival work when a more intense train service is run. Because of the of legal requirements of insurance, and the current lack of it, it is not be opened to the general public on such occasions, only friends & family of the railway's volunteers. Though we can possibly offer invitations to those who are interested in attending such a day, if you are then please e-mail William High.

There is a lot of time consuming work involved in getting the Joys of Life Railway back up to scratch, but the quality of the original work was very good & while the tasks are not glamorous, the reward is restoring a very fine railway. The bigger the volunteer base, the better the railway will become, so we’d like to have your help, if you wish to register interest please use the e-mail address provided above.
